Can I apply to be an official?
Yes, you can apply to be a volunteer race official when the Vietnamese Motorsports Association (VMA) opens up applications to international officials later in the year.
What roles are available to apply for?
Motorsport Australia will be selecting a group of 70 Senior Officials to fill Race Command, Race Administration, Chief, and Sector Marshal positions. Experienced Motorsport Australia officials who wish to be considered to fill a Sector Marshal role are able to apply through the Expression of Interest process.

VMA will be allowing for up to 150 international marshals to fill non-senior race official roles at the event.
How can I apply for a non-senior race official role?
VMA will be opening up applications for all international marshals in November 2019. The application will be through an online form only and the link will be shared on this webpage, as well as other Motorsport Australia news channels. Other ASNs will likely be publishing through their news channels as well.
When can I apply?
Applications for non-senior roles opened in November 2019 and closed in January 2020.
Who is selecting the international officials?
VMA will selecting and allocating all officials, along with the support of the Motorsport Australia team. If you intend on applying please ensure you complete all necessary fields, even if you are an experienced marshal, as those processing your application may not be familiar with your history.
When will I know if I have been selected?
Those applicants who are chosen to fulfil Sector Marshal roles will be informed by mid-September 2019.
The timeline of registrations for non-senior roles has not yet been finalised by VMA. We suspect that applicants for these roles should be informed of the outcome by the end of January.
How many Australians will be selected?
Motorsport Australia will be selecting a group of 70 Motorsport Australia senior officials.
VMA will be opening up 15% of their overall officials base to international applicants. This equates to roughly 150 officials from all ASNs. There is no quota for each country. Officials will be accepted based on experience and event needs.
Will Motorsport Australia or VMA cover any travel expenses?
Motorsport Australia, through its agreement with the Vietnamese Motorsport Association (VMA), will provide Senior officials transport, accommodations and meals.
Motorsport Australia and VMA do not cover transport or accommodation costs for non-senior officials.
If selected, will I need a Visa for Vietnam?
Yes, all travellers to Vietnam are required to apply for and be granted a travel Visa before arriving into Hanoi. Further information on this will be sent by VMA to its successful international applicants in early 2020.
