National Integrity Framework

The National Integrity Framework (NIF) is a set of policies that promote a fair, safe and inclusive environment in motorsport. Developed with Sport Integrity Australia, the framework aims to prevent and manage conduct that undermines the values of respect, safety, and fairness.

What does the framework do?
  • Defines prohibited conduct
  • Establishes complaint procedures
  • Sets out expected standards of behaviour
  • Protects the wellbeing and safety of all participants
  • Competitors (at all levels)
  • Club administrators and club volunteers
  • Motorsport Australia Officials
  • Motorsport Australia Staff
  • Support personnel (eg. coaches)
  • Any individual or organisation that agrees to be bound by the policies
  • Abuse (physical, emotional, or sexual)
  • Bullying (deliberate, repeated harm)
  • Harassment (offensive, threatening, or belittling behaviour)
  • Sexual Misconduct (unwanted sexual behaviour or criminal acts)
  • Discrimination and vilification
  • Victimisation (mistreating someone for making a complaint)

The NIF applies both on and off the track. This includes:

  • Face-to-face interactions – such as at events, during competition, in club meetings, and in official Motorsport Australia environments
  • Online interactions – including on social media platforms, emails, messaging apps, and online forums (where there is a connection to a Motorsport Australia event)
What is Sport Integrity?

Sport is a vital part of Australian culture, bringing people together and transcending differences in languages, culture, beliefs and ability, fostering a sense of belonging and community while providing physical, social, psychological and economic benefits.

For those reasons, it is crucial that we ensure Motorsport is a safe and fair environment for all involved. At Motorsport Australia, we offer a safe place for people to raise concerns about behaviour they’ve witnessed or experienced in motorsport as well as find more information if they have an integrity question.

Threats to motorsport’s integrity can include competition manipulation and sports gambling, doping, the improper use of drugs and medicine and behaviours that impact people’s positive experience of sport, such as discrimination or abuse, including against children.

Integrity in sport means that competitors, officials, and fans can participate in and enjoy sport, confident in the knowledge that they are part of a safe, fair, and inclusive environment.

All our members have an obligation to protect and maintain the integrity of sport, as well as the health and wellbeing of everyone involved.

We work closely with Sport Integrity Australia, the national coordination agency for sport integrity threats. For more information about Sport Integrity Australia visit its website.
