About the Role
Motorsport Australia is seeking a capable and motivated Senior Legal Counsel to join the organisation on a parental leave contract. This role provides the opportunity to deliver high-quality legal advice across a broad range of matters, supporting the organisation to operate effectively within a complex regulatory environment. Working closely with the CEO, Senior Leadership and Board, you will play an important role in managing legal risk, supporting good governance and managing integrity processes across the sport.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering high-quality, pragmatic legal advice across governance, regulatory, commercial, employment and risk matters.
- Partnering with senior leaders to proactively identify and manage legal and organisational risk.
- Supporting Board and committee governance, including reporting and company secretarial responsibilities.
- Overseeing integrity functions and contributing to the implementation of the National Integrity Framework.
- Managing contracts, disputes, insurance matters and coordinating external legal providers where relevant.
- Providing guidance on sporting regulations, judicial processes and member-related matters.
About You
To be successful in this role you will hold a Bachelor of Laws and hold, or be eligible to hold, a current practising certificate as an Australian lawyer, with approximately 6-10 years’ relevant experience. You will demonstrate experience in corporate, commercial and governance matters, ideally within an in-house or for-purpose environment. Strong communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills are essential, along with the ability to provide clear, practical advice. Knowledge of or an interest in sport is highly desirable.

About the Role
As Chair of the Finance, Risk & Audit Committee (FRAC), you will provide independent oversight and leadership across Motorsport Australia’s financial governance, risk management and assurance functions.
This role plays a critical part in supporting the Board’s stewardship of Motorsport Australia through sound financial oversight, effective risk management and strong governance practices. The appointment is for an initial three-year term, with FRAC meeting approximately six times per year.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the Committee to ensure effective governance, robust oversight and productive decision-making.
- Overseeing the integrity of financial reporting, financial performance, solvency, budgeting and key financial risks.
- Providing oversight of the organisation’s enterprise risk management framework, including strategic, operational, financial and compliance risks.
- Monitoring emerging risks and ensuring appropriate mitigation strategies are in place.
- Overseeing external audit and assurance activities, working closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and auditors to ensure high-quality, transparent reporting and effective resolution of issues.
- Reviewing and endorsing the annual insurance program and key governance policies for Board approval.
- Ensuring strong internal controls and compliance frameworks are maintained across the organisation.
About You
You will demonstrate:
- Senior executive financial leadership experience, ideally as a current or former CFO or equivalent executive role with responsibility for organisational financial strategy, reporting and controls.
- Strong financial acumen, including the ability to oversee financial reporting, budgeting, solvency, liquidity management and key financial risks.
- Board and governance experience, with a sound understanding of governance responsibilities and effective oversight practices. Prior FRAC Chair experience is not required.
- Knowledge of insurance governance and placement processes, including oversight of organisational insurance programs and associated risk considerations.
- Practical experience with enterprise risk management frameworks, with the ability to apply a pragmatic, outcomes-focused approach to strategic, operational, financial and compliance risks.
- Understanding of audit and assurance processes, including engagement with external auditors and oversight of audit outcomes and recommendations.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to facilitate robust discussion, and build effective relationships with Board members, executives, auditors and stakeholders.
- High levels of integrity, independence and professional judgement.
- Professional accounting qualification (CA or CPA mandatory).
- Motorsport specific knowledge is not required.

About the Role
As Participation Coordinator, you will help shape and deliver impactful programs and initiatives that encourage more people to get involved in motorsport across Australia. As Participation Coordinator you will:
- Plan, coordinate and deliver participation programs including Girls on Track, Women’s Introduction to Motorsport, First Gear and Esports
- Manage event budgets and administration to support smooth program delivery
- Oversee program communications, including the Motorsport Australia Esports Discord channel and social media platforms
- Contribute to the design of new programs and the continuous improvement of existing initiatives
- Collaborate with government relations and corporate affairs teams to deliver partner commitments and support grant acquittal requirements
- Coordinate the Motorsport Australia Sim-Hire program
About You
You are an organised and proactive coordinator with experience delivering programs or events in sport, recreation or a similar environment. You will also have experience working with sim racing and gaming equipment. You bring strong communication, stakeholder engagement and customer service skills, along with the ability to manage competing priorities, budgets and administration. An interest in motorsport and confidence using Microsoft Office are essential, while qualifications or experience in sport, education, training, volunteers, funding or CRM systems would be highly regarded.
We will offer you a supportive learning environment and a great team culture. This role is based at our office in Canterbury, Melbourne, with flexibility to work some hours from home. The role may require occasional travel to events and requires some after-hours and weekend work.
