From the regular Group N,O and P categories to the open wheel cars of Formula Vee and Formula Ford, there was much to like about the club’s final festival for the year.

Following the successful conclusions of a big year for the HSRCSA, club president Richard Cardew was happy with the way the event unfolded.
“We had a very good entry level and the drivers were looked after so they were happy. With around 220 entries part of the event, it’s encouraging to know that it ran so smoothly – so a big thanks to all those who helped put on the event.
“The event had larger than expected fields in Groups M and O – particular O and quite a few Victorians came up to compete in the category’s Dawson Damer Trophy Race.
“It’s been a really busy year and very full calendar and we’re really happy the way things turned out and that we could finish the way we did.”

As for the results of the weekend, while there were X categories all putting on a show, there were specific races which drew the attention and
Behind the wheel of the Triumph TR3A, Andrew Gibson was the best of the SA class drivers.
The other major event to run over the weekend was the Group LMO’s Dawson Damer Trophy Race which attracted a number of interstate competitors.
However, it was the Elfin MS7 of Thomas Tweedie who was dominant in the category, grabbing four wins from four races

The Elfins then got their own time to shine during a special sprint demonstration together Formula Vees, which saw fans get a look at the cars on display.
One of the final major races came through the BMC Challenge which saw MG Midget driver Simon Meyer come away with victory over Chris Collett in the Morris Cooper S.
