Are you ready to take the next step into the world of motorsport?
The FIA Girls on Track – Play Well program is a brand-new initiative designed especially for girls aged 14-22 with basic driving skills looking to experience motorsport for the first time.
This action-packed, hands-on program will be held a multiple venues around the country where girls will have the chance to:
- Drive real cars (You’ll need to bring your own road car for events at Sandown, The Bend and Mallala)
- Learn advanced driving skills from pro instructors
- Get hands-on with basic mechanical know-how
- Try out circuit laps and test your skills in a motorkhana
- Meet like-minded girls, connect with car clubs and take-home exclusive Girls on Track merch
You’ll walk away with new skills, confidence behind the wheel, and a clearer path into motorsport. Whether you’re aiming to compete, become an official, or just want to explore where your passion can take you.
This event is supported by the Australian Sports Commission’s Play Well initiative.

- Sessions will run from 8:30am – 4:00pm approximately
- Participants attending events at Sandown, The Bend Motorsport Park or Mallala Motorsport Park will need to bring their own car
- Participants attending events at Norwell Motorplex will be provided a car
- The sessions will include an educational session, driving exercises, circuit driving techniques and a motorkhana to complete the program
- Basic driving skills
- A Introductory Motorsport Australia Licence at a cost of $35 (this is covered in your registration if you don’t have one)
- A woman between 14-22 years old
- Helmets will be provided at the event
- Your road car if you are participating at Sandown, The Bend or Mallala
- Long pants and long sleeve shirt required
- Enclosed shoes
Do I need to provide my own car?
Events: Sandown Raceway, The Bend Motorsport Park, Mallala Motorsport Park
Yes – this program requires you to bring your own road car to participate.
Anyone can get involved in motorsport in your everyday road car. This program aims to support you with the basic skills and knowledge for you to continue participating in motorsport with your own vehicle.
Your car will need to be in a safe roadworthy condition and in compliance with state road regulations.
Events: Norwell Motorplex
You will be provided a car at the event, you do not need to bring a car if you are participating at Norwell Motorplex.
Do I need a Motorsport Australia licence to participate in the program?
A single event introductory licence will be included with your registration if you do not already hold a Motorsport Australia licence. The cost of this licence will be $35.
How much does it cost to enter?
This event will cost $35 if you do not already hold an active Motorsport Australia licence. This cost covers the fee of the licence.
Do I need a race suit or helmet to participate?
No – we just request that you wear non-flammable pants and long sleeve clothing and fully enclosed shoes. You are not required to supply a helmet for this event.
How old do I have to be to participate?
You must be between 14 and 22 years old and have basic driving skills.
Do I need any previous experience in motorsport?
No, you do not need any prior experience in motorsport to participant in this program.
