The first step to hosting or running a motorsport event in Australia is applying for a Motorsport Australia event permit.

There are more than 3000 Motorsport Australia permitted events held every year. Each event represents the diverse sphere of motorsport from high-profile international events, through to non-competitive show and shines.

Promoters, organisers or affiliated car clubs can apply for a Motorsport Australia permit by completing the relevant application forms and submitting it to permits@motorsport.org.au.

The minimum requirements to submit an application (including current affiliation for clubs) are:

  • A Motorsport Australia Event Application form 
  • Supplementary Regulations – utilise the PDF or Word proformas, or create your own set. 

We encourage all clubs and promotors to take advantage of the Event Entry System accessed through the Motorsport Australia Portal.

Online Applications & Forms

Available for social, non-speed and speed events, the online speed or non-speed application options include Event Application, Supplementary Regulations and Entry Form upload and payment options. This option does not require you to send in additional Supplementary Regulations.

Social permit applications are a quick and easy process that allow for numerous events in one application.

Online Clerk of the Course and Steward Report forms are available for all event types, as well as a request form for Alcoholmeter, Radar Gun and Noise Meter Equipment.
