Holden’s History on show at Bathurst in November

Friday 08 May, 2020
The Holden Bathurst Revival will be run at Mount Panorama later this year.
Holden’s prolific history will be celebrated at the inaugural Bathurst International later this year with a once-off Holden-only race to form part of the newest event at Mount Panorama.

Approximately 100 Holden race cars are expected to be part of the Holden Bathurst Revival, which joins TCR Australia and the Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour on the Bathurst International schedule.

The Holden-dedicated category will pay tribute to all eras of the manufacturer’s history, ranging from the first ever Holden model, the 48-215, all the way through to modern V8 touring cars.

Australian Racing Group, who will run the event in conjunction with Motorsport Australia, believed it was important to acknowledge the brand and ARG CEO Matt Braid said it would give passionate owners an opportunity to celebrate their cars.

“There is no better place to celebrate Holden’s racing heritage than Bathurst, and we are delighted to be making the Holden Bathurst Revival a feature of our flagship event in November this year,” Braid said.

“The Holden Bathurst Revival will bring together an array of Holdens and their custodians, whether they compete at grassroots levels around Australia or own historically significant cars that are too valuable to race in wheel-to-wheel competition.

“All are welcome to apply for entry to this special celebration at Mount Panorama.”

Cars eligible for the event will come from every category Holden has competed in, including grassroots level Group N and Improved Production Cars, as well as the now defunct V8 Utes and Commodore Cup.

Competitors will get around an hour of track time throughout the weekend. If interested, members can contact [email protected] for more information.

The Bathurst International will take place at Mount Panorama on 13-15 November.
