NSWRRC double the Challenge for 2019

Friday 25 January, 2019
NSWRRC will go into the club challenge with two teams instead of one.

The New South Wales Road Racing Club (NSWRRC) will head into next month’s CAMS Club Challenge with two teams instead of one as it looks to improve on 2018.

The club ended the challenge in eighth position from 11 teams with Damian Hart having the best day out of the four-man team.

In 2019, the event moves to Huntley Hillclimb in Wollongong and with only Hart and Adrian Whatley returning from last year, both teams will feature fairly new looking lineups.

Hart and Whatley will be leading the charge for the clubs Team Roadrunners, while one of the club’s team managers. Alexander Tickle, will head up Team GroupASpec.

With the club now entering a variety of new blood into the challenge, along with the experience of Hart and Whatley, Tickle is excited about the team’s diversity ahead of the 2019 challenge.

“Our team members have a mix of hill climb, circuit and motorkhana experience,” Tickle said.

“The list of competitors ranges from our youngest female competitor at just 15-years-old through to our club championship winner from 39 years ago.

“The NSWRRC is a proud club which was established in 1960 and we have continued running despite the closure of our home track, Oran Park Raceway in 2010.

“So it would be nice to take out the prize money, which would go to the running costs and promotion of the upcoming NSW 6 Hour Regularity Relay at Easter time.”
