Dare To Be Different (D2BD) is delighted to confirm two new Australian ambassadors, with media personality Kate Peck and driver Emily Duggan joining the program.

Both Peck and Duggan said they were thrilled to be lending their support to a program aimed at increasing female participation in the industry.

Peck, who would be a familiar face to many motor sport fans in Australia, is a key part of Channel 10’s motor sport coverage and has established herself as a media personality in Australia.

The former Australian Grand Prix Ambassador has also worked at MTV and describes herself as a “petrolette”.

Peck encouraged young girls to consider a career in motor sport, saying “I never knew any of this was possible until I gave it a crack”.

Peck’s fellow new ambassador, Duggan, began her career in motor sport in 2014, as the first female driver on the Series X3 grid.

Since then, she has gone on to drive in many different categories, including racing as part of the Kumho V8 Touring Car Series, now known as Super3.

Last year, Duggan was part of the Toyota 86 Series and said she was proud to lend her support to D2BD in 2019.

“Joining the Dare to Be Different family is an honour,” Duggan said.

“I believe humans can do anything and gender has nothing to do with our capabilities. You can see it as a limiting factor or not a factor at all. Coming from a different path into motor sport, I love to encourage girls to chase their dreams regardless of their past, where they come from or who tells them they can’t.”

CAMS announced D2BD’s arrival in Australia at the Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix last year, with a number of events and exciting programs to help spread the D2BD message since held across Australia.

In 2018, CAMS joined forces with Susie Wolff and the Dare To Be Different team to launch the program in Australia.

The initiative will help young girls from around Australia to understand the opportunities that await them in the motor sport industry, whether it is as a driver, engineer, mechanic or one of the many other roles in a growing industry.

Former Formula 1 development driver Susie Wolff formed Dare To Be Different in 2016 alongside Rob Jones, CEO of the UK's Motor Sport Association.

The not-for-profit organisation aims to inspire and celebrate women in every aspect of motorsport.

Dare To Be Different also hopes to change the preconceptions of a male-dominated sport by increasing participation of women to spark change.
