Virgin Australia Supercars Championship
Scott McLaughlin has comfortably taken out the fourth and final race of the Beaurepaires Melbourne 400, while Chaz Mostert was crowned the round winner and Larry Perkins Trophy recipient.
Starting in second and with a point to prove after last night’s shock exit from the third race, McLaughlin took no time to fly past Mostert, holding onto the lead for the remainder of the race, making it technically three wins from three starts.
Despite yesterday’s non-start, McLaughlin was proud of his almost perfect weekend.
“I don’t count we started yesterday’s race, so let’s go five from five,” McLaughlin laughed.
“I feel like I’m nailing those starts which is making me feel really good and I had a really good run into Turn 1 there with Chaz.
“I’m just stoked for everyone at Shell V-Power Racing and Ford Performance, just a great start to our year and we’ll press on."

After beginning the race in pole, it was a start to forget for Mostert as he dropped behind both McLaughlin and Jamie Whincup just after the first turn, but he managed to overtake the 2017 champion later on in the race to secure an outright runner-up finish.
Although he lost his position to Mostert, Whincup manage to hold onto his spot on the podium, marking the best result for the Holdens in what has been a weekend dominated by the Ford Mustang.
CAMS PAYCE Australian F4 Championship
CAMS PAYCE Australian F4 Champion reigning champion Jayden Ojeda has claimed the final race of the Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix 2019 weekend as AGI Sport dominated Sunday’s race.
Ojeda stretched to a lead of more than three seconds in the eight-lap race, though a damaged wheel nearly put an end to his farewell race in the championship.
The AGI Sport car survived to win by just 0.8 seconds over teammate Luis Leeds, with Ryan Suhle finishing third.
With the winner’s trophy presented by FIA President Jean Todt, Leeds was proud to come away with the weekend honours after a summer break spent not knowing of his racing future.
“It’s been a lot on the line in regards to my racing career, and I’m ecstatic to pull through with my first ever round win in Australian F4,” Leeds said.
“When I think about it, this has been my first race in F4 for nearly two years. I couldn’t quite get to grips with it – literally – on the first few laps. Once we got going and got some heat into the tyres, we made a gap and pulled away.
Suhle’s third place earned him a runner-up finish for the round, while 2018 Rookie of the Year Lochie Hughes finishes the round on the podium
Porsche PAYCE Carrera Cup
Jordan Love has taken out the third and final race of the weekend, making it back-to-back wins for the youngster, however Dale Wood claimed overall honours in the second round of the Porsche PAYCE Carrera Cup.
While the two front runners were unchallenged throughout the 10-lap race, the battle behind them was the most entertaining part of the race as Michael Almond crossed the line in third ahead of three other cars.
It’s been a disappointing weekend for Almond who retired in the first race, however in the final stages of the race, he was able to pass Warren Luff.
Despite finishing fourth, Luff comfortably finished the round on the bottom step of the podium.
CAMS Australian GT Championship
There was drama in the CAMS Australian GT Championship before the race even begun as round contender Fraser Ross’ brand new McLaren failed to start on the grid.
Ross’ premature exit from the race brought in the safety car ahead of the start as CAMS officials worked hard to get the McLaren off the grid.
When the race finally started, Kenny Habul and Max Twigg continued their entertaining weekend battle as the two Mercedes pilots occupied the top two spots for the whole race.
Behind the pair, Peter Hackett jumped young teen sensation Ryan How earlier in the race to work his way into fourth and it wasn’t long before he passed 2018 champion Geoff Emery.
By the end of the race, it was once again Mercedes who locked out the podium front three lockout as Habul, Twigg and Hackett finished the day in style.
Despite not winning one race for the weekend, Twigg’s consistency saw him take out the outright round, making it a good weekend for the 2018 CAMS Endurance GT Champion.
Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli Asia Pacific
Phillipe Prette was back on the top step of the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli Asia Pacific podium as he led rivals James Weiland, Go Max and Hector Lester for the whole final race.
Unlike yesterday’s race, there was no change to the front three as American Weiland finished the race two seconds behind Prette to get on the podium after a disastrous end to the first race.
Race one’s runner-up Go Max stayed ended the day once again in the top three but was unable to repeat his efforts yesterday, settling with third outright.
The only change to occur in the top five was the battle for fourth as Hector Lester overtook Yanbin Xing with just three laps to go to seal a hard-earned fourth place.
