Only one round remains in the 2019 BFGoodrich CAMS Australian Off Road Championship after two thrilling events to date.

With a number of state championships also reaching their crescendo for the year, cams.com.au/aorc.com.au reviews the seasons so far in the first of three parts.

New South Wales Off Road Championship

In the 2019 CAMS New South Wales Off Road Championship, two rounds have been run and so far Nathan Chivers is sitting pretty in first place, 23 points ahead of second place.

The SXS Turbo pilot has been in fine form all year, having taken out both rounds without trouble and the leader doesn’t look like dropping points any time soon

The battle for second is a much closer affair with only eight points separating the next three drivers with Anthony Abson leading Kevin Cant and Luke Kenyon.

In April’s Colo Park Challenge, Abson finished in second place behind Chivers and ahead of Cant, while Kenyon brought himself into contention in Dondingalong with a well- deserved third place behind Justin Chisholm.

While a top five finish kept Abson in second place, the third round of the season later this month seems like  the season is well and truly alive, especially both Thomas Berry and Warren Barron also not too far behind

Remaining rounds:
Milbrodale – 20 - 21 July
Warialda – 14 – 15 September
Kempsey 250 – 28 - 29 September
Nabiac: 19 – 20 October

CAMS Western Australia Off Road Championship

The CAMS Western Australia Off Road Championship has reached the halfway point with the most recent round providing fans with an incredible spectacle as Danny Argela posted a one second win over Troy.

The Championship has had three rounds so far in the 2019 season and despite grabbing his second win for the year, Argela sits in second place outright behind current leader Matthew Birnie.

However only two points separates the two due to Argela missing the second round of the season – one that Shane Elphinstone won, while Birnie’s two top finishes saw him rewarded with first place.

Elphinstone’s victory in the second round has been his only appearance in the championship thus far, while 2018 champion Jarrod Percival’s third place in Bencubbin was his first registered points in 2019 after a disappointing outing in Perenjori.

Remaining rounds:
Mid-West challenge 17-18 August
Three Springs 330  - 28 – 29 September
Kalgoorlie Desert Race – 26 – 27 October
