The Virgin Australia Supercars Championship has revealed the 14-events that will make up its 2020 campaign, with a number of highlights and format changes.

One of the biggest changes to the 2020 calendar is in Queensland, where the Gold Coast 600 will now be run as a night race – alongside two other night rounds in both Perth and Sydney.

Meanwhile, as announced last week, The Bend will host the first of the Pirtek Enduro Cup rounds next year, with Bathurst and Gold Coast to also feature as endurance events.

The calendar also features more regular events, with races falling on every third weekend through the season, aside from a winter break for the Tokyo Olympics and a two week break between the final two events of the year.

Supercars have also confirmed the ITM Auckland SuperSprint will move to the ANZAC long weekend, coinciding with the 20th running of a Supercars Championship event in New Zealand.

“It was important to us to increase the amount of Supercar racing for the fans at track and at home,” Supercars CEO Sean Seamer said.

“SuperSprint weekends are now full of Supercars racing on both days and we are really stepping up the entertainment value for fans and partners, on and off the track.

“We are also working hard on providing an improved offering for the fans with a more seamless experience from the time they buy a ticket to the time they leave the track, diverse food and beverage offerings including more modern options and additional entertainment.”
