The Australian Grand Prix Corporation (AGPC) has announced Paul Little will be its next Chair, replacing John Harnden.

 

CAMS President Andrew Papadopoulos congratulated Little on his appointment to what is a significant role in Australian motor sport.

 

“On behalf of everyone at CAMS, I’d like to welcome Paul to the motor sport family and look forward to building on our strong relationship with the AGPC well into the future,” Papadopoulos said.

 

“CAMS and AGPC work closely throughout the year and we are proud of what we have achieved to date – we’re also very excited about the future of the sport and in particular the future success of Australia’s Formula 1 Grand Prix.”

 

Papadopoulos also paid tribute to Harnden, who after a successful tenure, relinquished the role of Chair after being appointed chief executive of the Melbourne and Olympic Parks Trust.

 

“John has been a terrific Chair of the AGPC and deserves to be congratulated for what he has achieved in the role,” Papadopoulos added.

 

“The success of the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix is certainly well known – John should be proud of the world class event that is regularly rated as one of the best Grands Prix in the world.

 

“I can honestly say that it was a pleasure and honour to work closely with John and wish him all the very best in the future.”

 

Meanwhile, Premier Daniel Andrews also congratulated Little on his appointment.

 

“Paul Little is a proud Victorian and well placed to steer the future direction of the Grand Prix Corporation,” Andrews said.

 

“I’m delighted that Mr Little has agreed to take on this important role – as we saw under his stewardship of Visit Victoria, his drive and experience will help ensure that the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix remains one of the great events anywhere in the world.”

 

Little himself was excited about his next chapter.

 

“I am looking forward to helping shape the best motor racing events in the world – events that project the success and energy of Melbourne and Victoria around the globe,” he said.
