Bryce Fullwood will get another crack in the carsales TCR Australia Series at Sandown after Kelly Racing confirmed he will drive one of the team’s Holden Astra entries.
Fullwood endured a difficult debut at Winton Motor Raceway earlier this month behind the wheel of the Subaru WRX along with teammate Molly Taylor, both suffering from recurring driveshaft problems.

With Taylor’s TCR campaign over for the year due to clashes with the CAMS Australian Rally Championship, the team have opted to rest the two Subarus and focus on their two Holden Astras.
The decision gives Fullwood the opportunity to jump behind the wheel of one of the cars to further prove himself in a super competitive category.
“The Astras looked very competitive at Winton, so I’m looking forward to getting in one at Sandown next week,” Fullwood said.
“It’s going to be great in what should be a competitive car. It was nice to drive the Subaru and get a feel for the class of racing, but there were some mechanical issues to contend with.
“Andre did an awesome job at Winton. He qualified on the front row, so it will be interesting to see how it goes on the long straights at Sandown.
“The TCR cars are really different to what we’re used to here in Australia. It was cool to race against a whole bunch of different cars that make their speeds in different ways. It certainly adds a few extra curve balls and I found it really interesting and beneficial.
“It will be great too see S5000 at Sandown too. There’s been a lot of talk about it, and there’s some big, high-profile drivers in there.”
Fullwood’s teammate Andre Heimgartner enjoyed a mixed round at Winton, posting the second fastest time in qualifying but was unable to finish in the top five of any of the three races – finishing seventh, sixth and seventh over the course of the weekend.
With both drivers keen for a solid round at the iconic Victorian circuit, the team is confident that it can further unlock the full potential of the Astras.
