The Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 returns for its 62nd edition and the 2019 event seems to be shaping up as a big one.

Ahead of the iconic race, keep up to date with some of the key numbers needed to enjoy the day.

206,755

Last year saw a whopping 206,755 people enter the gates throughout the weekend, making it the second-largest attendance in its history - the highest being back in 2012.

629

While all eyes will be on those 1000km taking place around the mountain, the event wouldn't be possible without the 629 registered event and race officials. From flag marshals to the medical team, motor sport officials are what make race meetings on any level happen.

After starting at the traditional time slot of 11,10am for many years, the start time has officially been pushed back by 20 minutes as a way to maximises the afternoon sunlight and finish closer to the prime time television window. The new change also makes this year's running the latest start time in its illustrious 57-year history.

Craig Lowndes’ victory last year alongside Steven Richards was his seventh win in his career – putting him equal alongside Steven’s father Jim and second on the all-time winner's list – two behind legend Peter Brock’s nine.

There are five CAMS Australian Championships/Authorised Series that will race at Mount Panorama as support categories to the big race.

These include East Coast Bullbars SuperUte Series, the Dunlop Super2 Series, the Touring Car Masters, the Toyota 86 Racing Series and the Porsche PAYCE Carrera Cup Australia.

Two records were broken in last year's outing with Lowndes and Richards' six-hour race time smashing Richards' own record, set in 2014 alongside Mark Winterbottom, by 10 minutes.

David Reynolds was the other to walk away in the records books, posting a lap time of two minutes and six seconds. While McLaughlin posted a time three seconds faster in the 2017 top-ten shootout, Reynolds takes the cake for an in-race lap.
