FIA Motorsport Games to run in 2021
Wednesday 22 April, 2020
The inaugural FIA Motorsport Games took place in Rome last year.
The second edition of the FIA Motorsport Games has been postponed until 2021.
Originally due to take place in October 2020 in Marseille, France, and at the Circuit Paul Ricard, the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has seen the FIA, along with the SRO Motorsports Group, delay the multi-disciplinary event until October, 2021.
The decision was made in order to reduce further logistical and financial pressure on those in the motorsport industry, as well as prevent a number of calendar clashes with National Sporting Authorities when racing eventually restarts in 2020.
The second FIA Motorsport Games follows the inaugural event, which took place in Rome last year and saw Team Australia share outright second place on the medal tally with host nation Italy.
Australian teenager Cody Nikola Latovski made history after winning gold in the games’ first event, the Digital Cup, while Stephen and Brenton Grove claimed Bronze in the GT Cup.
The FIA Motorsport Games will now race on the 22-24 October 2021 at in Marseille, France.
