Motorsport Australia affiliated clubs based in Victoria are being encouraged to take advantage of the Victorian Government’s Community Sport Sector Short-Term Survival Package.

With around $40 million on offer to grassroots clubs around the state, the aim of the program is to help these organisations recover from the economic impacts the coronavirus pandemic may have caused in 2020.

Since the program’s introduction in September, two streams of funding have been available to organisations and associations for assistance with the Stream 2 grant still available until mid-October.

Open until 16 October, the Stream 2 package allows associations and leagues to apply for grants up to $2,000, while individual clubs and community sporting organisations qualify for grants up to $1,000.

Clubs and organisations wishing to apply for the grant must be non-government, not-for-profit and registered as an incorporated body and have an Australian Business Number.

Motorsport Australia CEO Eugene Arocca was highly supportive of this grant and encouraged Victorians to apply.

“This is a great opportunity for clubs to get some financial assistance from the government that would cover basic costs to keep them viable as restrictions ease across the state,” Arocca said.

“It’s an extremely easy process to apply and I highly recommend Victorian clubs take advantage of this opportunity."
