The Phillip Island Auto Racing Club (PIARC) will return to action for the first time since February later this month with the annual Access Meeting and November Supersprint to merge into one.

With Victoria’s lockdown restrictions having further eased at the start of November, the club will welcome back many of its members to an event which will offer multiple options over 14-15 November.

Taking place at the club’s iconic home base, the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, competitors can take part in the PIARC supersprint across the whole weekend or one of three categories, with Victorian Superkart Club Series and PIARC Circuit Excel Challenge to run on the Saturday and the PIARC Porsche 944 Challenge on Sunday.

In keeping with each category’s traditional racing format, all three will enjoy a practice and qualifying session before running official races, all of which will be squeezed into the one day.

The Victorian Superkart Club series will enjoy four races, while Saturday’s PIARC Circuit Excel Challenge and Sunday’s Porsche 944 Racing Association will have three outings each with their final race of the meeting will consist of more laps.

As for the Supersprint competitors, Saturday will see them undergo multiple practice sessions where they will familiarise themselves with the circuit before getting a host of official timing sessions all day on Sunday.

Like many other events taking place around the country at the moment, PIARC are enforcing a number of rules and regulations to stay within the COVID-19 requirements, meaning only entrants, nominated crew and registered officials will have access to the event.

Interested competitors looking to take part in the long-awaited return to Phillip Island can enter online via the Motorsport Australia Event Entry system, but must do so before the event as no entries will be received on the day.

The joint Access 2020 and PIARC November Supersprint takes place at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit on 14-15 November.
