Motorsport Australia has been informed that its insurance partner, Famous Insurance, will no longer renew existing insurance policies.

 

Existing policy holders will remain covered by Famous until their current expiration date, however they will not be able to renew with Famous from 1 December 2020 onwards.

 

RACQ Insurance is no longer underwriting Famous’ policies and as such the company is unable to renew the insurance for those who have held policies with the insurer.

 

Motorsport Australia CEO Eugene Arocca thanked the insurer for its many years of support.

 

“Famous has been a terrific partner of Motorsport Australia for many years and has provided thousands of our members with discounted insurance,” Arocca explained.

 

“Unfortunately, given this news, their partnership with us will come to a close. Importantly, those members with existing policies can be assured they will continue to be covered until their policy expires. So, for example if you renewed with Famous in recent weeks, you will still be covered until your policy is up for renewal again in 2021.

 

“We are now looking to find a new insurance partner and will advise our members in due course once there is any news in this space."
