RallyOne welcome MSS Safety Rally Barossa to the party

Wednesday 30 December, 2020
South Australian based RallyOne has finalised its schedule for 2021 with a brand new rally, the MSS Safety Rally Barossa, to form part of the five event calendar.

Taking place on some of the most iconic roads from previous South Australian rallies, the new event will see crews tackle 102 competitive kilometres across nine stages.

Categories to feature include Classic, Invitational, Clubman, Intro and Regularity, meaning a variety of competitors with different skills will be able to enter the new event.

Making the event more special will be its position just one week after the ever popular AGL RallySA – Rally of the Heartland in Burra.

Rally One Director Ivar Stanelis was excited for the benefits of having the new rally so close to the Motorsport Australia SA Rally Championship event.

“To announce this event as a follow-up from Rally of the Heartland will enable all crews taking part to stay in the region for the week and soak in everything the Barossa Valley has to offer,” Stanelis said.

“This event will deliver economic benefit to a region hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic and help to put South Australia back on the map with regards to tourism.

“We’re also offering a bit of an incentive for those who do both rallies, with a 50 per cent discount available to the Rally Barossa entry fee.

“We have already have five crews entered Rally Barossa and there has been plenty of interest already, so it’s certainly going to be an exciting fortnight for people who do both.”

With the way in which 2020 has panned out, Stanelis was delighted to be able to deliver a full calendar of events next year and an opportunity for competitors to enjoy motorsport again.

“The ability for our competitors to get back into their motorsport next year has been at the forefront of our mind,” Stanelis explained.

“We know they have really missed competing this year, so we are fully fixated on the idea of delivering a full championship to our competitors and crew.

“Additionally, our rallies also create opportunities for newcomers to the sport to take part, and avenues for the less experienced competitors and crew members to improve on their skills for future events.”

Entries for the MSS Safety Rally Barossa will close in April.

The MSS Safety Rally Barossa will take place on 16 May 2021 in the Barossa Valley region of rural South Australia.
