The Porsche Club of South Australia will be hoping to start its 2021 motorsport calendar with a huge positive on the weekend, as competitors line up for the club’s first event at Mallala Motorsport Park.

With entries usually capped at 40 for an event, Sunday’s proceedings on Sunday will see 12 competitors turn up and complete 10 runs each, with five in clockwise and another five in anti-clockwise direction.

Speaking ahead of the weekend, event secretary Roger Paterson was hopeful everyone would enjoy themselves and have a safe, clean run to start the year.

“We’re all looking forward to what lies ahead on Sunday,” Paterson said.

“We’re getting a few newbies out there and it’s going to be great to get started for the year.

“As an organisation, all we would really like to do is just get out there and enjoy the camaraderie, the company of each other and for competitors to do the best they can while driving around at low speeds.”

While the club has only 12 drivers committed, event organisers are confident more should attend and boost the numbers before it begins on Sunday morning,

Of the cars already confirmed, the smaller number of entries listed means Paterson will have the opportunity to have a run in his own car, with club motorsport director Darien Herreen also looking to have a run.

In what is a major boost for the event, motorsport fans around the area will be able to the event to spectators to watch the action unfold.

The Porsche Club of South Australia will host their first motorkhana event of the year at Mallala Motorsport Park on Sunday 31 January.
