Fans will be the big winners at the Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships’ opening round at Phillip Island this weekend.
 
There will be no restrictions to outfield spectator access points throughout the whole weekend with spectator parking also permitted around the entire outfield of the famous circuit.
 
The lack of restrictions means fans can enjoy the action from all of their favourite spots at the circuit, as well as being able to go to the paddock and canteen, which are both open on Saturday and Sunday. 
 
Despite the easing of restrictions, there are still requirements that fans planning to attend need to abide by, including the pre-purchase of tickets.

With Friday’s action closed to spectators, all fans must pre-purchase tickets for Saturday and Sunday as there will be no opportunity to buy at the gate on either day. 
 
The gates for fans on both Saturday and Sunday will be open from 8am AEDT and all attending spectators must enter the circuit via Gate 1, where they will be required to scan a QR code upon entry for contract tracing purposes.

As the event is running under the current COVID requirements, all fans are asked to respect social distancing and to stay home if they are feeling sick or experiencing COVID-like symptoms. 
 
The opening round of the 2021 Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships will feature a number of premier national categories such as the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series, the VHT S5000 Australian Drivers' Championship, the Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge Australia and the Motorsport Australia GT Championship.
 
Both Saturday and Sunday's track action will begin from 9am, with Saturday to wrap up around 4:30pm and Sunday to end at 3:30pm.

Fans unable to attend the round will still be able to watch a large portion of the action with Saturday and Sunday to be broadcast live and free on 7plus and 7mate.
 
As part of a new broadcast deal, New Zealand viewers can tune into the round via Sky New Zealand, while the fans overseas can watch via Motorsport.tv.
 
The Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships’ season opener at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit takes place on 12-14 March.
