Popular Victorian Relay to run in July

Thursday 03 June, 2021
The popular Victorian 6 Hour Relay will return in 2021.
Organisers for the 2021 Victorian 6 Hour Relay have confirmed their intentions to run the 15th edition of the event at the end of next month.

Having had to cancel last year’s running because of Victoria’s lockdown laws, the organising team is confident of this year’s event going ahead, despite the current situation.

For the past 12 months, the clubs involved with the popular grassroots motorsport event have been hard at work to develop a structure that fits under Motorsport Australia “Return to Race” protocols and is COVID safe.

Entries for the event have now been opened with a maximum of 50 teams allowed to participate in the annual regularity relay.

The Victorian 6 Hour Relay is a regularity trial which sees each contesting team, made up of three cars to six cars and four to six drivers, run laps of the famous circuit as they attempt to hit a nominated time on each lap.

The closer they are to their nominated time, the more points they score per lap and the team who has the highest cumulative score by the end of the day, wins.

The 2021 Victorian 6 Hour Relay takes place at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit on 31 July to 1 August.
