Broc Feeney has dominated the combined Dunlop Super2/Super3 Series securing a perfect clean sweep of the weekend.
Taking place as part of the NTI Townsville 500, Feeney proved too strong for the rest of the field in every session, going fastest in practice, securing pole position and winning both of the category’s two races.
His biggest challengers for the weekend came in the form of Jayden Ojeda and Tim Blanchard, who enjoyed an epic battle for second place themselves.
In race one, it was an unchanged top three for the 21 laps as Feeney led Ojeda and Blanchard from lights to flag. Despite leading every lap, it was a close affair as the Triple Eight Racing driver crossed the line just seven tenths ahead of Ojeda.
While just over one second separated the top three in the first race, Feeney produced a more emphatic display in the second race, beating Blanchard by five seconds and Ojeda by seven.
Zak Best finished the weekend with two fourth places, while Jordan Boys edged out Tyler Everingham to make up the top five after a brilliant recovery run in the second race saw him jump into fifth.
As a result of his weekend, Feeney replaced Best as the series leader, a moment that took place during the second race of the weekend.
"What a weekend," Feeney said post race.
"I just can't thank my team enough. I dream of this stuff, you know?
"The red number [denoting series leader] went on this morning, I was so excited.
"It's literally what I have been dreaming of for the past couple of years and a clean sweep this weekend.
"Every session, we have been on top, and the pace in this car is unbelievable.”
In the Dunlop Super3 Series, Nash Morris and Michael Anderson each finished the round with a pole position, race win and second place.
Anderson was the first to claim honours as he secured pole position on Saturday and stormed home to victory over Morris, before his counterpart did the exact same on Sunday.
The only difference between the two results was that Morris had more work to do after losing his lead to Anderson after the first lap in race two, however the 18-year-old bounced back quickly to grab the lead back on the next lap.
There was very little change in the positions behind the front duo as Reef McCarthy, Brendan Strong and David Murphy rounded out the top five – each finishing both races in their same positions.
The Dunlop Super2 and Super3 Series return to action later this week with the WD-40 Townsville Supersprint hosting the third round of the season.
