The National Trans Am Series 2021 season is set up for an epic finale as just four points separate leader Aaron Seton and Nathan Herne. 
  
The duo have been neck and neck for the whole year, with each having won five races out of the available 12 and each having finished on the podium in every race. 
  
The competition between the two has been the major narrative throughout the year and while the likes of Owen Kelly, who won the remaining two races, Tim Brook, Edan Thornburrow, Nash Morris and Ben Grice have enjoyed moments, it’s been all about Seton and Herne. 
  
Unfortunately, border restrictions deprived the two from continuing their title fight at Morgan Park this month, however there will still be rounds to run, albeit at locations yet to be confirmed. 
  
Although there has been a gap between National Trans Am Series rounds due to the postponement of rounds, Seton has kept himself busy with running in the Dunlop Super2 Series where he is ranked 14th overall. 



For the Queenslander though, he is just keen to get back into the Ford Mustang and race in the Trans Am Series, which he believes is having a big impact on his development. 
  
“It’s been a very cool battle with Nathan. The two of us have been racing together in the series for a few years now and we’ve both come a long way,” Seton said. 
  
“To be up against him in every race has been really good for my development because I feel I have improved as a driver as we are constantly pushing each other. 
  
“And it’s not just Nathan either. Having Owen, Tim and even Nash at times challenging us is great. It shows how competitive this category is. 
  
“I really do love the series and for me it’s one of the best out there because it’s cost effective, the competition is great and they are just great cars to race. 


  
“I definitely think we’ll push each other to the end. We have finished every race on the podium, so it’s just a matter of continuing to have consistent and clean weekends and it should be a good climax. 
  
“At this point though, I don’t know what the season has in store for us or where we will be, but I am excited to see what will happen and I’ll just keep going out there to do the best I can.”
