NSW state categories to enjoy centre stage alongside Supercars' return
A pair of local NSW state categories will be part of Supercars return, featuring on the Bunnings Trade Sydney SuperNight support card later this month.

NSW Sports Cars and NSW Sports Sedans will all share the track with the Repco Supercars Championship when they return to action on 29-31 October, along with the Toyota 86 Series and the V8 SuperUtes national categories.

NSW Supersports President Darren Barlow was delighted to be part of the upcoming event.

“Industrie NSW Supersports are excited to confirm their participation as a support category for the Supercars at the upcoming Sydney SuperNight on October 29-31,” Barlow said.

“This event will represent round three of a four round quest to determine the Industrie NSW Supersports Championship.

“Supersports have been a staple of the NSW Motor Race Championship providing fast, close and exciting racing and are well suited to the fast and flowing Sydney Motorsports Park layout.”

NSW Sports Sedans President Steven Lacey was also eager to return to the track, given the lengthy layoff for motorsport.

“Kumho Tyre NSW Sports Sedans are pleased to be a support category,” Lacey said.

"We are set to heat up the SMSP circuit with the fire breathing Sports Sedans. With so few Rounds to date in 2021 the Championship is wide open in all three Divisions. The racing in Divisions 2 and 3 is also set to be close, with little in it in terms of the points after just two Rounds of what the Club expects to be a four Round Championship for 2021.

“It will be a fierce battle upfront with V8 Chev and Mopar versus the four-pot turbos at the pointy end.”

The confirmation of the support line up coincided with the release of the track schedule which promises plenty of action across three days of racing.

The action will begin with the Supersports opening practice session just before 2pm AEDT on Friday, before Supercars end the day with a 7.30pm practice session of their own under lights at Sydney Motorsport Park.

Supercars’ first qualifying session begins at 3.40pm on Saturday, before the Top 10 Shoutout takes place at 4.40pm. The highly anticipated return to racing under lights at 7.10pm on Saturday night.

Supercars then return on Sunday for two quickfire qualifying sessions from 10.30am, before race 21 kicks off at 12.45pm, and the final race of the weekend at 4.25pm.

For the supports, each will enjoy three races across Saturday and Sunday, promising plenty of track time for those eager to showcase their talents on the national stage.

All sessions for the Bunnings Trade Sydney SuperSprint will be broadcast live on Fox Sports and streamed via Kayo. The Seven Network will broadcast live from 3:30pm AEDT on Saturday and 12:30pm on Sunday.

Ticketing information for the Bunnings Trade Sydney SuperNight will be released in coming days.
