Motorsport Australia is pleased to confirm it will host a joint round of the Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships and the RSEA Safety Motorsport Australia Rally Championship at The Bend in October.
The event will see the Adelaide Hills Rally based out of South Australia’s premier motorsport facility, while at the same time fans will be able to experience the excitement of a round of the Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships on 21-23 October, 2022.
To be known as the Motorsport Australia Festival, South Australian motorsport fans will be the winners, with the event to deliver rally and circuit racing on the one ticket, with plenty of off-track activations and excitement for fans of all ages.
The joint event will see several national circuit racing categories take to the Tailem Bend circuit, while rally competitors experience stages on the surrounding roads as well as use of the impressive Stadium Circuit and rally stages that already exist at The Bend.
The Adelaide Hills Rally also doubles as a qualifying round of the FIA Asia Pacific Rally Championship, meaning international rally competitors will also be involved in the event.
Categories for the event will be confirmed shortly, with the round adding to the existing line up of Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships events already confirmed for 2022.
Motorsport Australia Director of Motorsport & Commercial Operations Michael Smith said the double header was something different that would bring significant economic benefits to the region.
“This is a terrific opportunity for fans, competitors and officials to be part of a massive event and experience the excitement of national level circuit racing at the same time as getting a dose of world class rallying at the same venue,” Smith said.
“We’re delighted to be bringing the Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships and the RSEA Safety Motorsport Australia Rally Championship to The Bend in October next year in an event that will be a real crowd pleaser and bring plenty of people to the region.
“A big thank you must go to Sam Shahin and the team at The Bend Motorsport Park for their support of both events and supporting a strong motorsport line up for South Australian fans.”

Tickets will be available for purchase to the event in the new year.
