Grand opportunity awaits aspiring young women
Wednesday 16 February, 2022
An exciting opportunity awaits women aged 15-22 at the 2022 Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix.
Young Australian women looking for a career in motorsport can take their first step on the biggest stage through the FIA Girls on Track program at this year’s Formula 1 Heineken Australian Grand Prix.
Part of the program’s new Career Development and Mentoring initiative, the concept will allow women aged between 15-22 to take part in the busy day of motorsport activities and direct access to a number of the Motorsport Australia FIA Girls on Track ambassadors.
Aimed at those who have an interest in or are passionate about a career in motorsport, applications for the program via an online national competition have been opened and will close on 11 March with 20 girls to be selected later in the Month.
The successful participants will then attend the Thursday of the Formula 1 Heineken Australian Grand Prix where they will have a full itinerary of unique activities organised.
Part of the jam-packed schedule includes workshops, access to an exclusive panel discussion and a networking lunch with women from various roles in the industry.
Heading up the exclusive panel discussion are Motorsport Australia FIA Girls on Track ambassadors, Molly Taylor and Krystina Emmanouilides.
In addition to the above, a unique experience awaits participants with the opportunity to tour the Formula 1 paddock as part of the program.
Following on from the Albert Park experience, five lucky women will then get the chance to directly engage, network and converse with the ambassadors and champions, as well as other women in motorsport, who will act as mentors for helping them pursue their careers.
Women aged 15-22 can register their interest for the program here.
The FIA Girls on Track Career Development and Mentoring initiative takes place at Albert Park as part of the Formula 1 Heineken Australian Grand Prix on 7 April.
