The second round of the Queensland Government’s Active Clubs program is now open with applications being accepted until 23 March. 
 
Created as way to provide financial assistance to not-for-profit local and regional sport and recreation organisations, the program will give up to $2,000 (GST exclusive) to successful applications.
 
The objective of the program to help clubs with funding for a range of areas, including volunteer training and recognition, education, equipment and covid safe related expenses.
 
In the first round of applications, seven Queensland clubs received funding, including the Douglas Shire Motor Sport Association, Mazda MX-5 Club of Queensland and the Queensland Motor Racing Officials Association.

Queensland based Motorsport Australia affiliated clubs can apply for the funding if they are registered with an ABN and are either a local or regional level not-for-profit recreational company or community organisation.
 
Motorsport Australia CEO Eugene Arocca encouraged Queensland based clubs to apply for the program.
 
“We have already seen many Queensland clubs receive grants and put that funding towards important projects,” Arocca said.
 
“I urge clubs around the state to take advantage of this opportunity. Government funding for our sport is always deeply appreciated.
 
“The Queensland Government’s Active Clubs program is a wonderful initiative and will provide access to important funds for any club in need of assistance after what has been a difficult two years.”

“I also want to pass on our collective thoughts and best wishes to all communities impacted by the devastating floods that we are currently witnessing in both Queensland and New South Wales.”

The second round of the Queensland Government’s Active Clubs program closes on Wednesday 23 March with all successful projects to be completed by 30 June 2023.
