Every year the world celebrates International Women's Day on 8 March.
Motorsport is a close-knit community and there are countless women playing a huge role in keeping the sport alive.
Whether it is the competitors, administrators, officials, volunteers or just supporters, there are women in the sport across every discipline, form and event.
Competitors like Molly Taylor and Ally Howells who contest national championships against the best in Australia, highly respected officials such as Jessica Nicholson and Janelle Orrock who continue to rise up the ranks, to those making their mark in teams such as Jessica Dane and Krystina Emmanouilides.
These are just the high-profile individuals – there are many more women involved in the sport, including among the 10,000 officials and hundreds of Motorsport Australia affiliated car clubs who do their bit to make sure motorsport in this country thrives.
As there is a push for the growth in participation of women in sport around the world, motorsport continues to find ways to be inclusive.
The FIA Girls on Track has proven to be one of the biggest gateways into the sport as young schoolgirls are given rare insights into the sport by Ambassadors of women in motorsport.
Over the coming days, motorsport.org.au will cast a spotlight on some of the women in the sport around the country and encourage more women around the country to share their story in the sport.
