Motor Events Racing has officially confirmed the remainder of its budget endurance motorsport series calendar with two big events to take place at Sydney Motorsport Park between July and October.

Starting off next month, the popular series will be hosting its 12 hour day/night War on Winter event before returning to Eastern Creek in October for the 7 Hour NöBugerRING.

Since its inauguration in 2019, the aim of the series has been to create an environment where drivers with all levels of experience can go up against each other in a manner where all teams have equal opportunity to win.

There are a number of different formats making up the calendar, including one-day events that last a minimum of seven hours, two-day events lasting more than 14 hours and three-day events that span 20 or more hours.

Each event is run similar to an endurance race where teams of four or more drivers share the tasks of driving, fuelling and repairing their car to make it through to the allocated distance.

Separating this series with other endurance events is the fact that teams are limited to cars that hold a value of $5000 and are allowed five modification points to update the performance of the vehicle.

From Excels and Pulsars to Toyota 86’s and Improved Production cars, the series allows for all types of cars to enter with four different classes, which are based purely on factory engine power, making up grids.

With the series also aligned with supporting the Rare Cancers Australia charity, Motor Events Racing Chief Executive Officer Ben Mcguire believed the series was beneficial to competitors for multiple reasons.

“Motor Events Racing is Australia's largest budget endurance motorsport series and proud to be aligned with Motorsport Australia,” Mcguire said.

“Since 2019, this series has gained huge popularity amongst experienced motorsport participants, new or learning motorsport enthusiasts and of course the weekend racers of Australia.

“This is due to the no pressure and social aspect of these events along with the huge amount of track time on offer.

“The fact that there is that budget cap and those five modification points, means the events are kept true to entry level motorsport and allow the fields to stay nice and close.

"The modification points exclude the necessary safety items such as roll cages, race seats and harnesses, but allow enough flexibility for people to have their car set up as they would like it.

“As for Rare Cancers Australia, the charity does amazing work for people in tremendously difficult situations and that's why we are committed to donating money for it - so far, the series has raised over $60,000 and counting.

“If you want more track time than you know what to do with and a fun social weekend away with friends and a family this series is for you.”
