Entries for the 2022 Accent Benchtops Rally Queensland are now open.
After some uncertainty surrounding the Accent Benchtops Rally Queensland due to recent floods, the Brisbane Sporting Car Club run event was given the green light earlier this month with the event well and truly on track.
Taking place at the end of July in Gympie, the two-day sprint rally will see Australia’s best crews complete 179 competitive kilometres over 14 stages, as well as the Acworth Recruiting Motorsport Australia Queensland Rally Championship and the Virtual Security Novice Series running in conjunction.
Interested participants have until 5:30pm AEST on 15 July to enter the round and can enter via Motorsport Australia’s Member Portal here.
Starting on the Saturday, crews will tackle 91 competitive kilometres over eight stages, while the remaining six stages will run on the Sunday with a further 91 competitive kilometres on the cards.
Serving as the fourth round of the 2022 RSEA Safety Motorsport Australia Rally Championship following this month’s Shannons Rally Launceston, Clerk of Course Brian Everitt was proud the event could get up despite multiple flooding disasters plaguing the start earlier this year.
“Their enthusiasm is never ending so we’re very appreciative of their support along with the assistance of the HQ Plantations.
“We’re looking forward to having the ARC, it will be a big boost to the economy especially after the months we had. The council are doing their upmost to help us run the event and they have been terrific and very understanding.”
