The date for the virtual 2021 Motorsport Australia National Awards, presented by Shannons Insurance, has been confirmed and will run on Thursday 11 August.
 
Originally scheduled to be held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre in April, Motorsport Australia had to cancel the gala dinner as a result of many guests being unable to attend due to the ongoing concern with COVID and continued travel delays.
 
As a result, it was decided the awards would be held online and in the same manner as the Motorsport Australia State Awards.
 
Hosted by popular motorsport personality Greg Rust, the Motorsport Australia National Awards virtual ceremony will acknowledge the achievements of all national championship winning drivers/co-drivers during the 2021 season, as well as celebrating some of the individuals who have contributed immensely to the sport.
 
There are a handful of prestigious awards also to feature in the ceremony, including a Presidential Citation, the Phil Irvine Award, the Peter Brock Award and the return of the Motorsport Personality of the Year award.
 
The Australian motorsport media also get their time to shine with awards such as the Photographer and Journalist of the Year being celebrated in the coverage
