Adelaide Motorsport Festival locked in for March, 2023
Tuesday 16 August, 2022
The Adelaide Motorsport Festival has announced the dates for 2023 with the popular South Australian event to run in the week prior to the Formula 1 Heineken Australian Grand Prix.
The three-day festival will see up to 14 categories racing around the famous Victoria Park, sharing the same roads made famous by the Adelaide 500 in late-March next year.
The event will feature a range of impressive vehicles tailored to race fans of all ages, including historic Formula 1 cars to modern day time attack cars.
The event was brought back to life through the Malinauskas Labor Government’s Motorsport Policy, which also saw the return of the Adelaide 500, and has been locked in for another four years.
Event director Tim Possingham was excited to have the 2023 dates confirmed to lock in the date, as well as the next four years.
“We are pleased to announce our dates for the return of the Adelaide Motorsport Festival today,” Possingham said.
“These dates are absolutely perfect for us as we will be the week after the Adelaide Fringe festival concludes but yet a week prior to the Melbourne Formula One Grand Prix.
“Our team has been working on the content for the event and all I can say is that the timing of our event has drawn significant international interest whilst individuals who will be travelling from the Formula One events in the Middle East to Melbourne are compelled to arrive in Australia some four or five days earlier.
“They will be arriving in Adelaide and move on to the Melbourne Grand Prix after the Adelaide Motorsport Festival. This event will shift to the next level when we deliver it in late March.
“We are ever grateful of the support that we have received from the Malinauskas State Government, which has allowed this incredibly successful event to return and grow to new heights.”
The event will be open to the public over two days, with the Friday prior to serve as a private practice day.
The 2022 Adelaide Motorsport Festival will take place in Adelaide on 24-26 March, 2023.
