Dean Tighe (pictured centre) has won the sixth round of the Motorsport Australia NSW Hillclimb Championship.
Dean Tighe has been victorious once again in the sixth round of the Motorsport Australia NSW Hillclimb Championship.

A healthy field of more than 40 competitors took to the north-eastern town of Gunnedah and got four official runs of the short but fast course, however it was Tighe who rose to victory, setting a new record of 24.55 seconds in the process.

While Tighe was in a league of his own, the fight for second was well and truly on as Dave Morrow and Warren Bell both recorded competitive times, but it was the former who secured second place with a time of 28.63 seconds.

Bell ultimately rounded out the top three, finishing one second behind Morrow with his fastest time of 29.81 seconds, while also ending up as the fastest tin top for the day.

Riley Macqueen also secured class honours in the improved production category despite placing 14th overall, recording a time of 32.80 seconds.

It was a strong performance across the field with only three drivers failing to complete all four runs.
