It was a blockbuster weekend of racing at Sydney Motorsport Park, the venue which played host to the seventh and final round of the 2022 Motorsport Australia New South Wales Motor Race Championships season.

The event saw more than 200 entries across nine championship categories including, the Production Touring Car Enduro, Improved Production Cars and HQ Holden racing.

The headline act of the weekend saw a bumper field take part in the the Production Touring Car Enduro, which comprised of 32 laps.

Following an entertaining battle, it was experienced Australian Production Cars drivers Anthony Soole and Adam Burgess who claimed victory, beating Simon Hodges by 15 seconds, while Dimitri Agathos finished a further 20 seconds off in third.

The weekend saw many clean sweeps occur, one of which belonged to Bradley Harris in the RX8 Cup who walked away with all three race wins ahead of three-time runner-up Justin Barnes.

Following the trend was Lee Vella who won all four SuperKart races, who comfortably finished ahead of Mark Robin in all three seconds by a gap of seven seconds or. Rounding out the top three was Dylan Stephens, who continued to improve throughout the races, recording two podium finishes.

Another perfect weekend came in the Sports Sedan Championship as Brad Shiels walked away with three wins over Steven Lacey and Birol Cetin, who battled hard and finished second and third respectively across all three races.

Race two of the weekend proved to be the most competitive among drivers, with the top four cars all within four seconds.

After attending Sepang International Circuit in September for the Ferrari Driver Academy Asia Pacific and Oceania Program, Jessie Lacey and Christian Estasy were the standout performers in Formula Race Cars.

However it was Lacey who would walk away as the round winner, picking up three wins from three races, while Estasy recovered from P9 in race one to finish the last two outings in second place.

There was strong tenacity within the SuperSports Championship with many drivers making impressive race recoveries. Nick Kelly opened his weekend account strongly with a victory in race one, before a DNF in race two almost spelt the end to his weekend. Fortunately, he competed in race three, even managing to secure a podium second place finish.

Meanwhile it started out as a tough weekend for Alexander Kenny who recorded a DNF in race one, before he went on to win the following two races.

In Formula Ford, it was a tie between Valentino Astuti and Zak Lobko in the overall national round point score with both drivers finishing on 78 points.

Despite Lobko missing out on a race win, the ninth-place finish of two-time race winner Ryder Quinn ultimately handed Lobko the victory, while Quinn was able to hold on to third-place overall.

In the Formula Ford NSW Championship, James Piszcyk was crowned Duratec Champion and Dan Holihan the 1600 Champion. With the most points out of anyone in 2022, Holihan is the overall NSW champion with 297 points to his name.

In the HQ Holden Racing Championship, Brett Osborn spent his weekend on the podium with two wins and a second-place finish. John Baxter also recorded a race win and a string of podiums, earning him a second place finish overall. Finishing in third, eight points behind the leader, was David Proglio.

In the Improved Production Under 2L Championship, Kurt Macready took out the round win, followed by Bob Jowett and Charlie Viola finished second and third respectively.

Recording two race wins was enough to secure the round win for Jason Clements in the Improved Production Over 2L Championship, with the winner holding a considerable gap over the second placed Lachlan McBrien and Benjamin Sheedy in third.
