Declan Fraser has helped make history for Triple Eight Race Engineering after a clean sweep of wins in the Dunlop Super2 Series finale at the VALO Adelaide 500 saw him secure the title.
Fraser’s victory made Triple Eight the first team to win all four major Supercars crowns in one year, with the team having already won the Bathurst 1000, as well as both the Driver and Teams’ Championships.
In October, the team won the coveted Bathurst prize through Shane van Gisbergen and Garth Tander, before the former took out the Drivers’ title during the first race of the Gold Coast 500. Triple Eight went on to win the teams’ title during the final day of that round.
Fraser then locked in the final piece of the team’s incredible winning run, claiming the Super2 title and making it back-to-back Series wins for the team after Broc Feeney won last year.
Fraser went into the final round of the 2022 Super2 season in Adelaide with a healthy lead of 75 points over Zak Best at the top of the standings, before sealing the deal with a dominant weekend that included two poles and two wins.
Best ended up finishing the final round with a P4 and a podium, helping him secure second on the standings, while Matthew Payne rounded out the podium for the year having picked up a runner-up finish and fourth in the finale.

In the Super3 Series, Brad Vaughan’s two wins in Adelaide saw him crowned as champion after a dramatic round that saw Kai Allen retire in the second race – costing him the title.
Allen finished the first race in second behind Vaughan and looked set to win the series, however a DNF saw him drop to second place with 96 points the ultimate difference between the two.
Jim Pollicina’s podium in the final race helped him seal third place overall.
With the series now complete for 2022, the 2023 Dunlop Super2 Series will commence on the streets of Newcastle for the Thrifty Newcastle 500 on 10-12 March.
