The Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour is back this weekend and with a huge field entered in the 2023 edition of the popular production car race.
 
A star-studded entry list made up of 60 cars and 156 drivers will do battle over the Easter long weekend, with Sunday’s six-hour endurance race the headline act for the annual event.
 
The field is stacked with talent - from the outright contenders battling at the front of the field, all the way through to the smaller yet fierce E class cars.
 
Some of the more notable names to entered in the event include motorsport legends John Bowe and Marcos Ambrose, Supercars stars Will Davison and Anton de Pasquale, Supercheap Auto TCR Australia regulars Tony D'Alberto and Ben Bargwanna and a host of previous Production car stalwarts.

The two Supercars drivers will be sharing driving duties with two sets of experienced campaigners, with Davison again joining Beric Lynton and Tim Leahey, while De Pasquale will link up with Anthony Soole and Adam Burgess.
 
Other outright contenders fans should keep note of are Sherrin Rentals’ Grant and Iain Sherrin, the GWR Australia BMW M3 of Garth Walden, Michael Auld and Tyler Everingham and the reigning Australian Production Cars champion crew of Wayne, Drew and Aaren Russell.


In the lower classes, a number of last year’s winners are back to defend their title, including Class A2 winners Tony Quinn and Grant Denyer, Class C winners Jake Camilleri and Scott Nicholas and David Wooler, who was victorious in Class E.
 
Outside of the talented steerers, the manufactures entry list is just as diverse with 12 brands represented throughout the 60-car field - BMW proving the most popular with 14 cars in total, half of which are in the outright contenders.

Joining the 6 Hour is an impressive bill of support categories including the GT World Challenge Australia, Circuit Excel Bathurst Challenge, MRF Tyres Australian Pulsar Racing Association and combined GT4/Australian Production Cars.
 
The GT World Challenge Australia will begin its 2023 campaign this weekend with a 20-car field to compete with dual title winner Yasser Shahin spearheading attack alongside Garnet Patterson, while the likes of Geoff Emery, Jamie Whincup, Broc Feeney and Liam Talbot are among those to be fighting for silverware.

A full schedule is on the cards for teams and drivers across all categories with 23 hours of track time to keep fans entertained all weekend – the busiest day being Saturday due to 14 sessions spread across 10 hours, while Sunday’s action features the most track time with eight hours in total – six of which will be the headline act.

Fans unable to attend will be able to tune into the live broadcast via Stan Sport and 9Gem on Saturday and Sunday, with Saturday’s coverage to take place from 12:15pm to 5:45pm AEST on Stan Sport and 9Gem to showcase Saturday’s action live and free from 2:15pm to 4:50pm.
 
On Sunday, the Stan Sport broadcast will begin at 9:20am AEST and will continue until the end of the endurance race.
