British Formula 4

It was a double podium delight for Australians in the British Formula 4 Championship over the weekend, with Noah Lisle and Pat Heuzenroeder both enjoying top three finishes during the round at Snetterton.

With the face race of the weekend cancelled, the championship begun with the reverse grid race, which resulted in the duo's podium finish.

After starting from eighth on the grid, Lisle gained four places in a matter of laps to find himself in podium contention early on, before taking advantage of a safety car restart to make the move up into second place.

Heuzenroeder mirrored his countryman's efforts and found himself in a battle for the final podium place with Douwe Dedecker, before getting the move done on the Belgian to clinch the final podium place and claim his best finish for the season.

Neither driver was able to replicate their success from the final race of the weekend, as contact for Lisle saw him drop to last after requiring a pit stop, while Heuzenroeder was unable to crack the top ten, crossing the line in 13th.

Meanwhile, another Aussie in James Piszcyk a season-best return on the weekend with the New South Welshman picking up a pair of fifth-place finishes after the two races, his best of the season to date.

The result has rewarded Lisle with a promotion to fifth in the standings, while Piszcyk sits comfortably in 11th and Heuzenroeder moves up a couple of places to 16th.

The next round of the ROKiT Formula 4 British Championship takes place at Thruxton on 3-4 June.

US Formula 4

Two second-place finishes and a mixed bag of results summed up the fifth round of the US Formula 4 season for our the Aussies in action.

Jesse Lacey kicked things off on a high after claiming pole position for the opening race, while Lewis Hodgson qualified in P4.

Unfortunately, both drivers finished lower than they started in the race with Lacey losing his lead shortly after - although he was able to hold onto the position for the rest of the race.

Hodgson meanwhile lost four places during the race as he crossed the line in eighth place.

The second race of the weekend saw Lacey start from the front row but drop a couple of positions before fighting his way back through the pack to eventually land third.  Lacey was then promoted post-race when penalties were handed out.

Unfortunately couldn't produce a similar result to his countryman as he finished 26th overall.

The results leave Lacey in second in the standings, while Hodgson drops to eighth after the unfortunate result in the second race.

The pair will now turn their attention to the next round of the season at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington on 24-25 June.

Junior ERC

Max McRae had a weekend of ups and downs at the opening round of the Junior ERC season in Poland, finishing in sixth place in his class.

The weekend started on a high after Friday’s opening stage where he found himself sitting happily in second, before a disappointing Saturday saw the 18-year-old drop down the standings  - his best result being seventh in stages seven and eight.

Sunday's results were much the same, with a late charge in the final stages enough to finish of his debut weekend in sixth place.

McRae will now set his sights on the ERC Tet Rally Liepāja on 17-18 June.
