Queensland racing enthusiasts will be treated to an action-packed weekend of racing when Morgan Park Raceway hosts the third round of the WDSCC Motorsport Australia Queensland State Championship this weekend.
Hosted by the Warwick District Sporting Car Club, this will be the second time the championship has visited the circuit this season – meaning most participants will already be familiar with the layout before taking the track this weekend.
An impressive 90 competitors will feature throughout the event across six different categories, including Sports Sedans, Circuit Excel, Formula Ford, Formula Vee, Improved Production and the Holden HQs.
Each will undertake up to four races across the two-days of jam-packed action, with the grid being determined by qualifying sessions on Saturday.
With some categories falling under the regularity and supersprint rulings, they will also partake in four timed sessions with the usual qualifying to be replaced by a practice session for each respective category.
The overall winners of the event will be determined by the highest accumulation of points earned across all four sessions for relevant groups, with first place earning 30 points, second earning 25 and third earning 22 etc.
The practice sessions will kick off on Friday before Saturday and Sunday will feature the bulk of the weekend's competitive action.
With perfect conditions and no rain expected across the whole weekend, the event promises to excite anyone interested in attending the event- with free entry at the doors.
Entry is free for all those interested in attending the event.
The third round of the WDSCC Motorsport Australia Queensland State Championship will take place at the Morgan Park Raceway on 16-18 June.
