The Motorsport Australia Tasmanian State Motorkhana Championship continues this weekend with the third round taking place on Sunday.
Hosted by the MG Car Club of Tasmania, round three of the state championship will see 18 of Tasmania’s best motorkhana drivers head to a new destination after two rounds at Symmons Plains, with Latrobe Speedway hosting the event.
There will be many of the season’s top contenders returning for the event too, most notably Justin Nicklason who leads the outright championship after winning both rounds, including a convincing eight second win in the most recent event.
With Nicklason’s main rival from the round in Khairul Bailey not attending this weekend, the championship leader will be hoping to add to his healthy points total.
One of biggest challengers for the event will be Stefan Lendvay, who has finished on the podium in both opening rounds – his runner up in the season opener saw him just one second off Nicklason.
The Midgley family will also be making a return, after Maklyn and Damien took turns occupying the top ten in previous rounds, including an impressive third place for Damien in round one.
The event begins from 10am AEST, with more information available via the
club’s website.
Round three of the Motorsport Australia Tasmanian State Motorkhana Championship takes place at the Latrobe Speedway on Sunday 16 July.
