Another chapter will be written in the intriguing Motorsport Australia SA Khanacross Championship title fight this weekend, when the state championship returns for the fourth round of the 2023 season at the Mid Murray Motorplex.

Hosted by the Southern Districts Car Club (SDCC), the event will see many of South Australia’s best Khanacross drivers unite for a busy day of action, which will also see the Cluv host the fifth round of the it's own series.

More than 45 competitors are already confirmed to take part in the event, with each having the opportunity to post the fastest cumulative time across a minimum of four runs, with up to eight expected to be completed on the day.

The driver with the fastest combined time will be crowned the winner of the event, while many will also engage in a battle for top honours in their own respective classes.

Headlining the impressive entry list is Championship leader, Bradley Clements – who will look to continue his title rivalry against his father Michael, who currently sits only six points behind after three rounds.

A victory for Bradley in Cambrai this weekend will see the 28-year-old continue his dominant start to the year after claiming all three round wins so far in 2023.

Michael on the other hand, will look to spoil the party in the Subaru WRX after coming second to his son on all three occasions, but will have to be wary of the capable firepower behind.

The nearest threat to the Clements family has been Sam Humphries, who is also set to return in his WRX and will be eager to stop the run of dominance up top with a victory of his own.

Steven Leo and Damien Wilson will look to bounce back after amassing their lowest points total of the season last time out, while the impressive Andrew Gleeson will make his second appearance of the year after a sixth-place finish in his 2023 debut last month.

As for the SDCC Khanacross Series, young-gun Oscar Farnden will seek to build a larger gap between he and title rival Marc Tillett, with only a single point separating the two front runners ahead of the fifth round.

Humphries is also in the mix to shake things up at the top of the standings, but it will be Michael Milligan and Daniel Haselgrove with the most to lose as the duo currently sit equal fifth on points, vying to keep themselves in title contention in what is the penultimate round of the season.

Spectators are welcome to indulge in all the action, with the first car to take the track bright and early at 8:45am ACST, running through to the conclusion of the final run late in the afternoon.

The fourth round of the Motorsport Australia SA Khanacross Championship and the fifth round of the SDCC Khanacross Series will take place at the Mid Murray Motorplex on 3 September.
