Saturday at Shell V-Power Motorsport Park won’t be a day Oscar Targett will forget anytime soon after picking up his first and second Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge Australia race wins.

The 17-year-old had a fantastic jump off the line in the opening race but was brought back after an early safety car intervention occurred when an incident saw Zac Stichbury in the wall before even reaching turn one.

Another great restart saw Targett resume the lead and never surrender it, crossing the line for his first category win.

He would then go on to back up his win with another later on in the afternoon, this time holding off series leader, Marco Giltrap at turn one before extending his gap out to three seconds at the chequered flag.

The New Zealander would finish second in both races for the day, with Marcos Flack also securing back-to-back podium finishes in an impressive day of action.

The Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge Australia will return for one last race on Sunday at 1:05pm ACDT.

Saturday’s sessions belonged to young Alex Gardner after the Volante Rosso driver was able to convert a pole position into a race win for Workhorse Radical Cup Australia.

The series leader sealed the position by finishing two tenths of a second ahead of Elliot Schutte, who was able to out-do the returning Chris Perini.

The three then crossed the finish line in the same positions they qualified in, with the gap to Gardner three seconds while the reigning champion in Perini rounded out the podium despite a 30 second time penalty.

Workhorse Radical Cup Australia will return to the track for its second race at 11:20am ACDT on Sunday.

John Goodacre was the sole winner in Saturday’s MARC Cars Australia action after taking victory in a dramatic race to close out the afternoon.

After claiming pole position earlier on in the day, Daniel Stutterd went off track and forced a safety car intervention towards the halfway stage of the race, promoting Cameron McLeod into the lead in the MARC I Ford Focus.

However, it wasn’t to be for McLeod after he was soon chased down by the two GT’s piloted by Goodacre and Geoff Taunton.

Taunton would apply the pressure to Goodacre throughout the majority of the race but couldn't get close enough to make a move and had to settle for second, with McLeod hanging on for third.

MARC Cars Australia will have two more races this weekend, with the first to get underway at 12:20pm ACDT on Sunday.

Mark Laucke backed up his performances from Friday practice to take the first race win of the weekend for the Australian Prototype Series.

After qualifying in third earlier on in the day, Laucke got the jump over both Jason Makris and Scott Bormann off the line, where he built a healthy gap.

He would then use his experience to lead the pack to the chequered flag, with Bormann making up a place at the expense of Makris – who would have wished for a better result after claiming pole position in the morning session.

Finishing in fourth place was Miles Lacey, who was able to return to his original grid position after unfortunately stalling on the line at lights out.

Australian Prototype Series will return for two more races on Sunday, with the first kicking off at 9:00am ACDT.

Jake Santalucia has delivered the first punch in the Australian Formula Ford Series after an impressive win in the one and only race of the day.

Champion-elect, Matt Hillyer nabbed pole position earlier on in the day but was ultimately forced to settle for second in race one.

Rounding out the top three was Conor Somers, who also ensured a Sonic Racing podium lockout after holding off Zak Lobko.

Despite missing out on the top three, Lobko was one of the drivers of the day as he had to work his way back from 11th on the grid. Unfortunately, the result would come at the expense of Harrison Sellars, who qualified in third during the morning session but could only hold on for fifth place ahead of Kobi Williams.

The Australian Formula Ford Series will kick of the final day of action with race two bright and early at 8:30am ACDT on Sunday.

The combined series saw split winners in two epic one-hour enduro races, with the duo of Shane Smollen and Ricky Capo sharing the honours with Jacob Lawrence and John Bowe.

The two race winners found themselves battling for the outright lead in the late stages of race one, but it was Smollen and Capo who would ultimately hold on to claim victory.

The duo would then control the majority of race two, pushing the lead out to as far as 16 seconds with only a matter of laps to go before an unplanned pitstop from Capo shook things up at the top of the order.

The stop promoted Karl Begg and Paul Morris to the front of the pack, but the experienced Bowe would then make the move for the lead with only a couple of minutes to go and hold on victory.

In APC, it was Coleby Cowham and Lindsay Kerns with the ultimate bragging rights in race one, but would have to settle for second in the final outing after a great comeback performance from Grant Sherrin.

The combined category will return for another two one-hour enduro races on Sunday, with the first kicking off at 10:10am ACDT.

It was a day to remember for Conor Nash who dominated both races of the Burson Auto Parts Circuit Excels on Saturday.

Nash got a great jump off the line to hold the lead into the opening stages of race one, where from there, he was barely headed.

He would eventually go on to cross the line six seconds ahead of the second placed Mitchell McGarry – who made up a place to get past front-row starter, Shayne Nowickyj.

The second race of the day saw a similar result, with Nash extending his lead to seven seconds and again, ahead of McGarry.

The final step of the podium was this time claimed by Jack Wallis, edging out Nowicky who would continue to fall down the order after an impressive Friday.

Burson Auto Parts Circuit Excels SA will return for one final race around Shell V-Power Motorsport Park at 9:30am ACDT on Sunday.
