The ever-popular Baskerville Historics has proved a major success once again, with more than 150 entrants taking part in the three-day race meeting.
A total of 11 categories made up the event as a collection of racing, regularities and sprints featured in the jam-packed schedule.
Three of the categories taking centre stage were entertaining regularities, as every driver started on 50 points in each of their four official sessions, before losing critical points after going over or under their nominated times.
While all three regularity categories put on a show, the most notable competition came in Penrite Regularity Sedans, where nothing would separate three drivers - Robin Bond, Julian Gill and Alexander Priest each scoring 180 points.
There were also two special sprint categories, the Events Tasmania Historic Sports Sedans Sprints, won by Adam Gowans, and the Class ACL Bearings - Classic Baskerville Sprints, won by David Rowell.
Behind the wheel of the Repco V8 Celica, Gowans’ best time came on his second lap of the category’s second session, as his time of 57.4721 seconds remained unbeaten during Sunday’s three sessions, despite Glenn Gerstel going fastest in each.
Saturday also proved pivotal for the Classics sprint, as Rowell took out the win after his best time of 59.8 seconds in the first session was the only time anyone went under one minute for the whole weekend.
As for the racing side of the event, there was lots of close competition between drivers, while just two dominated their respective categories.
The two drivers to end the event with a perfect record of five wins from five races were Bradley Chick in the HO FM Sports Sedans & Invited class, and Torana SS hatchback driver Adam Williams, who clean swept the Thomas Parker Rare Spares Muscle Car Cup.
SRT Logistics Historic Sports & Racing & Invited winner Phil Sutton came close to a handful of wins himself, as he steered his Ralt Rt 35 to four victories and a runner-up.
In the RACV Group Lb, S + Inv Sports Cars category, Lincon Spurr was a highly deserving winner after taking top honours on three occasions, as well as two podiums in the remaining races.
The closest battle for top honours for the weekend was in the Shannons Group Na, Nb, Nc Historic Touring Cars as Scott Cordwell enjoyed three wins over fellow XU 1 Torana driver Phil Ashlin, who won two races himself.
However, Ashlin proved the more consistent of the two as he never dropped below second place, while Cordwell finished fourth in the first of Ashlin’s wins.
Also taking place was a special Chris 'Kit' Ellis Memorial Group N Mini Only Race, which saw Jeremy Bennett claim a seven-second win over David Ralph.
