Sport Integrity Australia's new educational webinar series starts off with webinar around Safeguarding Children and Young People in Sport.
Sport Integrity Australia has launched a new series of educational webinars to help the Australian sporting community learn about significant integrity matters.
Sport Integrity Australia is a government organisation whose role is to provide advice and assistance on matters such as prohibited substances, manipulation of sporting competitions and child abuse in a sporting environment.
"The What, Why and How behind Safeguarding Children and Young People in Sport” will be the first webinar in the educational series and will focus on the safety of children in sport.
Aimed at wider sporting community, the webinar will be presented by Lisa Purves, Sport Integrity Australia’s Director of Safeguarding, and will look at the following areas.
The high-risk environments for preventing the abuse of children and young people in sport.
Understanding the four pillars of risk in a sporting context.
Understanding types of offenders and what you can do to prevent harm or abuse from occurring.
Applying a situational prevention approach to child safe risk management.
Motorsport Australia encourages any members, licence holders, administrators or club officials who deal with children to attend the one-hour webinar.
Interested participants simply need to register here and can attend the one-hour webinar from 7:30pm AEDT on 8 November.
