MotorSports NT celebrates class of 2023

MotorSports NT has celebrated the 2023 motorsport season with its annual awards night, commemorating a variety of individuals from within the Territory, across four and two-wheel disciplines and those who contribute to the sport off the track.
A full house attended the event, including high profile state leaders from such as Chief Minister Eva Lawler, Sports Minister Kate Worden, Minister for Tourism Joel Bowden, and Shadow Tourism Minister Joshua Burgoyne.
While many champions of 2023 received their silverware, certain competitors also received special accolades. Jack Wade was named as both the 2023 NT Champion of the Year and Driver of the Year, while River Spitzbarth received the NT Junior Driver of the Year award.
Another young gun to be acknowledged was Rossi Johnson, who took out the Motorsport Australia Future Star Award for his impressive efforts in the 2023 V8 SuperUte Series.
There was also a long list of individuals who were recognised for their remarkable contributions to the sport, both at events and for their clubs.
Receiving recognition for their years of service to the sport were Ross Page and Laurie Feehan, who were recipients of the Service Award and Service Star respectively.
Picking up one of the most prestigious awards for the evening was Ray Henry, named as the Northern Territory Motorsport Person of the Year. Henry was also acknowledged as the Off Road Official of the Year Award winner.
Other notable award winners included Alice Springs Off Road Racing's Donna Wright, who claimed the NT Administrator of the Year, and Top End Road Racing Association receiving the NT Club of the Year award.
