Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup Australia star Bayley Hall will enjoy a unique international experience later this year after signing for a three-round deal in Porsche Carrera Cup Italia.
The Queenslander will contest the opening three rounds of the 2024 season with Milan-based outfit BeDriver, where he will be running a brand-new chassis for the stint.
Formed in 2021, BeDriver has achieved quite a lot in the series since its foundation, scoring a number of podiums and top five results in that time, while also recently finishing sixth overall.
Starting off with the opening round at Misano World Circuit early next month, Hall’s Italian stint will see him compete at the famous Imola and Mugello Circuits.
In addition to his busy Italian schedule, Hall will also fly home after Imola to compete in the third round of the Porsche Carrera Cup Australia season in Darwin, before returning to Italy to compete at Mugello.
“I am absolutely ecstatic and proud to announce that I will be racing for BeDriver in Porsche Carrera Cup Italia for the first half of their season,” Hall said.
“This is an unbelievable opportunity that came about across the offseason. It started off as a simple email after winning at the Gold Coast and now BeDriver has opened a door to my ultimate dream of racing a Porsche in Europe.
“Last year’s international adventure took me to North America, and I came back as a more complete and stronger driver, and this opportunity will allow me to do the same. I’ll be gaining some more seat time and challenging myself against new competitors, including the likes of Larry Ten Voorde who is one of the most successful Porsche Cup drivers in the world.
“The biggest challenge that is driving this initiative is the three new tracks I’ll be facing. These European style circuits are different to what I’m used to. And I’ll be learning the circuit whilst my competitors turn up with plenty of laps under their belt.
“I have to keep pinching myself knowing that in a matter of weeks I will have ticked Misano, Imola and Mugello off my bucket list.
“As I’ve made it very clear, my goal is to win the Michelin Junior championship in Australia and get my ticket to the Shootout in Europe. And Porsche Carrera Cup Italia gives me seat time in Europe to challenge myself, make new connections and get a better understanding of the driver I need to be to win the Junior scholarship.
“I have to say a massive thank you to my family, all my current supporters and the BeDriver team, Alessandro & Darshan, for all coming together and making this amazing opportunity come to life and hopefully be the start of something very special.”
Hall is currently in New Zealand for the second round of the Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup Australia season and will contest the opening round of Porsche Carrera Cup Italia at Misano World Circuit on 3-5 May.
