The Motorsport Australia South Australian Motor Racing Championship resumes its 2024 season early next month with the highly anticipated Formula 4 Australian Championship and MARC Cars Australia to feature.

To be held at the Shell V-Power Motorsport Park over the first weekend of May, the event will have a variety of categories on show and plenty of interest surrounding the highly anticipated Formula 4 Championship, which begins its five-round season with talented young rising stars from around the region entered.

Plenty of familiar names looking to make their mark on the sport have entered in the championship, which includes former British Formula 4 star Jimmy Piszyck, Formula 4 South East Asia Championship race-winner Nicholas Stati, and Joanne Ciconte, who secured a round runner-up in the Formula 4 class of the Giti Australian Formula Open season opener earlier this year.

The trio also enter the season having been selected for Ferrari Driver Academy programs last year, with Ciconte participating in the FIA Girls on Track Rising Stars Program finale at the famous Fiorano Circuit.

The other national category featuring in the state championship event is the MARC Cars Australia, which holds its second round of the season and will feature regular stars such as Geoffrey Taunton and Adam Hargraves competing.

Joining the two national competitions are a handful of regular state categories, including Circuit Excel SA Trophy and Masters, SA Prototype Series, MG and Invited British, Sports Sedans, and Alfa Romeos.

Taking place over two days, the third Motorsport Australia 2024 South Australian Motor Racing Championships event will have an extremely busy schedule.

MARC Cars will enjoy the largest amount of track time, with two one-hour races, while both Formula 4 and the SA Prototypes will have three 25-minute races. All the other state categories will have three 20-minute races.

With plenty going on at the event, the organising committee is on the lookout for volunteer officials to help run the event smoothly.

The club is looking for multiple positions, including Pit Lane and Trackside officials, as well as general officials.

Those interested in taking part in the event and getting the best seat in the house can register their interest here.
