A jam-packed weekend of racing wrapped up yesterday at the GT Festival in Phillip Island, with racing featuring three Shannons SpeedSeries regulars.

It was a Ferrari clean sweep in the two headlining Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia - powered by AWS races, with Chaz Mostert and Liam Talbot claiming top honours in Race 1, before Jaxon Evans and Elliott Schutte saluted in Race 2.

RAM Motorsport/GWR Australia driver’s Garth Walden and Mike Sheargold locked away the Am Class standings lead, while Mostert and Talbot keep a firm grip on the top of the Pro-Am driver standings.

It was a similar story in the two Monochrome GT4 Australia Series races, Tim Leahey and Cody Burcher executing a perfect weekend for BMW with two consecutive race wins.

Both Central West Prestige M4 GT4 G82 victories were hard fought, with Burcher executing a brave pass on race leader Antonio Astuti in the Love Racing by Volante Rosso Motorsport Mercedes-AMG in the dying laps.

Ryder Quinn and Steve Jakic secured their second Pro-Am victory of the season for their efforts in the Black Diamond Building and Construction BMW.

Race 2 proved just as thrilling for spectators on Sunday, with Leahey only securing the victory in the final 10 minutes of the race after hunting down Marcos Flack and Tom Hayman in the Method Motorsport McLaren Artura GT4 for most of the afternoon.

The Am cup was decided late in Sunday’s race, claimed by Mark Griffin solo for Team Nineteen in the Mercedes AMG GT4.

Four Meguiar’s Australian Production Cars races rounded out the weekend of action at Phillip Island.

Amidst tyre carnage in the first race of the weekend, Cameron Crick and Dean Campbell were able to avoid the chaos in his Class X BMW M2 to finish on top of the podium, followed by Mark Cain in the Class X BMW M4 and Michael Osmond in the A1 BMW M135i.

Simon Hodges and Mark Caine took out the outright and class X wins in Race 2 in the Secure Wealth BMW M4, followed by Tyler Mecklem and Hadrian Morrall in the Parramatta Vehicle Services Ford Mustang.

It was a clean sweep on day two for Crick and Campbell, taking out the third and fourth face victories to make it three for the weekend.

See these categories and more battle it out at the next instalment of the Shannons SpeedSeries at Sydney Motorsport Park for Race Sydney from 18-20 October.
