The 2024 FIA Motorsport Games has completed a huge Saturday of competition, with plenty of Australian representation throughout the seven categories.

Here's how our Aussies faired across the second day of action in Valencia, Spain.

Pebbles-261024

Formula 4
Griffin Peebles started his Saturday with a strong Qualifying session at a wet Circuit Ricardo Tormo, initially taking P6 and a third row start for the Qualifying Race. This position was ultimately elevated to P5 after the driver from Team United Kingdom was handed a penalty for track limits.

The young Australian started the Qualifying Race in fifth, but a slow start took him back almost ten places. Peebles showed determination throughout, while also benefiting from a handful of disqualifications, to finish eighth. Peebles will start on the fourth row for the Race, beginning at 12:10pm CET (10:10pm AEDT).

Corinne-261024

Auto Slalom
Corrine East-Johnston and Reece McIntosh concluded their 2024 FIA Motorsport Games campaign with a gallant 12th place out of 33 nations.

The duo began their "Eight Final" on Saturday with a one-on-one battle against Yuval Ravitz and Tal Sarig from Israel. However, the clean performance from the Israeli duo resulted in East-Johnston and McIntosh's elimination from the Auto Slalom competition. The Australian pair showed impressive pace, but the left-hand drive of the Hyundai KONA Electric N Line proved difficult to navigate around the course.

Philippa-261024

Esports GT
Philippa Boquida shone in the Semi-Final, finishing ninth after an hour of racing.

Boquida showed pure skill in the recovery drive after being spun in the first lap. The Victorian started in second place, however the first lap incident took her back to the final spot on the grid. Over the next 59 minutes, the Esports GT driver managed to make up enough places to finish in ninth and qualifying for the Final.

The Final was also a superb showing of talent, starting from P18, Boquida managed to fight her way to eighth place with five minutes remaining in the hour-long finale. Unfortunately, a 10 second penalty late in the race moved Boquida down to 12th place.

Burton-261024

Esports F4
Jake Burton had a great start to the Esports F4 Semi-Final on Saturday afternoon, avoiding any major incidents and finishing the first lap in sixth place. However lap two proved costly, with a huge incident involving the driver from Team Malaysia sending Burton down the order and ultimately retiring before the conclusion of the race.

Casabene-261024

Karting Sprint Senior

Pip Casabene worked hard on Saturday in what was a competitive field of 35 nations in Karting Sprint Senior. Beginning with Qualifying Heat 1, Casabene gained two spots to finish 27th. The young Australian started lower down the field after an issue on Friday with a front wheel hub.

For the second event of the Senior category, Casabene made up 11 places in dry conditions to finish 18th. The first of the final two sessions for Karting Sprint Senior begin at 10:45am CET (8:45pm AEDT).

Riley-261024

Karting Sprint Junior
Riley Harrison showed impressive pace in Karting Sprint Junior Qualifying Heat 1, finishing in a solid 8th out of 36 competitors on Saturday. The 2022 NSW State Champion continued to Qualifying Heat 2, but lost five places throughout the nine lap heat, finishing in 11th position ahead of Sunday's racing. Karting Sprint Junior begins its Sunday of competition at 10:20am CET (8:20pm AEDT).

Kosecki-261024

Karting Sprint Mini
Jay Kostecki starred in the Qualifying Heats for Karting Sprint Mini, taking P2 after a clean and impressive race. The West Australian maintained a strong position after a tough battle in the final laps of the heat. Kostecki will look towards the final day and a place on the podium with Karting Sprint Mini kicking off Sunday's Karting sessions at 9:30am CET (7:30pm AEDT).
